Coloradans recognize that our quality of life and our economy are tied to our outdoor natural resources. We are also keenly aware that our state is facing a “perfect storm” of enormous challenges and consequences.

Colorado’s public lands are suffering because of increased population pressures, the impacts of natural disasters, declining budgets in public agencies and a growing disconnection of humans, particularly children, to their natural world.

Even when we have the funding, for example, to acquire new lands for long-term protection, that does not mean we have the funds to manage and maintain them. It is time for a larger, macro-scaled and holistic approach designed to influence policy, secure outdoor industry investment and philanthropy, and inspire responsible action and commitment from Colorado’s public in long-term and sustained stewardship of our great outdoors. VOC is pursuing this strategy but we cannot do it alone – we need your support.
