Vanessa Casas

Field Programs Manager

Vanessa is the Community Programs Coordinator for Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC). She assists in the coordination and delivery of VOC’s strategic engagement programs including Healthy Community Projects, youth and family programming, Corporate SWATs (Stewardship with a Team), and various public volunteer projects. Vanessa’s passion and strong background in conservation and natural resources helps VOC’s volunteers to experience and create long-lasting connections with the outdoors.

Prior to the Community Programs Coordinator role, Vanessa joined VOC in 2022 as one of our Seasonal Field Projects Coordinator after working 6 seasons in different fields of conservation. Some of her roles included naturalist, visitor service coordinator, environmental educator, field technician, and natural resources coordinator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin.

Vanessa was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. Since she moved to the U.S she has lived in Wisconsin, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and now Colorado where she wants to stay and live for a while.
